Warm knitwear up top matched with linen bottoms for a casual Friday.

My favorite season used to be autumn. I always loved the warm light and the imminent Holiday season, plus all the news in fashion after a period of sweatiness sparked a thrill of anticipation – luxe materials, opulent styles, who could resist? While all of that still holds true, I’ve become a lover of spring and early summer. Is there anything better than those first days after a long winter, when the sun comes out and we can enjoy the first drinks outside? Daylight is lasting longer already, and inspite of the occasional rain shower, hearing the birds chirp away and seeing nature awaken just gets me in a good mood. I’m truly looking forward to summer.

Unfortunately, now is also the time for catching a cold – which many of us do, especially when we get too excited about the first hints at warmer temperatures. My mom always used to say: wear an undershirt and socks, layer up!

So for one of the first spring #ootds, I’m sticking to some warmer knits and loafers (no ballet flats just yet). Add a thin cashmere coat in a fun color (like this one), and you’re good to go! Another really good option right now are booties in a lighter or brighter color. Warm enough for chilly days, but new and fresh. Welcome to the new season!
