The white button-up shirt – a classic piece for those of us who work in a suited office environment, and also one of the three clothing pieces that make tall girls cringe when it comes to shopping (among long, especially flared, pants and long evening gowns). You can imagine my love-hate relationship with this one. Recently though, I’ve started to get them custom-made at this store in Germany where you can have your measurements taken and saved in their system for future purchases. Once you’ve established your perfect fit, you can re-order online, on the phone, or in store without repeating the whole process. Finally, a shirt that’s long enough so it doesn’t put my kidneys on full display after a few meetings, sleeves that show under a blazer as they’re supposed to, and a third button that’s not under constant tension. Price point? Around €/$ 70 for a cotton shirt, which is extremely fair in my view and much less than you’d pay for a designer shirt in the same quality of fabric. If you don’t have a tailor in your area but like the style, try this one.
